Accord Neuronal

Presentation and definition of Accord Neuronal

Accord Neuronal is a mind-body practice that helps you better understand yourself by bringing to the surface what is felt. Grounded in phenomenology, neuroscience and Carl Rogers’ approach, it is intended for everyone.

Definition:

Accord Neuronal is a mind-body practice.
It is grounded in:

  • Phenomenology: the idea of returning to the very essence of things, a concept developed by Edmund Husserl, philosopher and founder of phenomenology.
  • Neuroscience: the study of brain and nervous system mechanisms. Neuroscience suggests that the body encodes lived experience and influences our reactions without conscious awareness.
  • Carl Rogers’ influence: a humanistic psychologist emphasizing empathy, practitioner authenticity and unconditional positive regard towards the person (suspension of judgment).

The main purpose of Accord Neuronal is to surface what one feels, in order to better understand oneself and find a balance between body and mind.

Core principles of Accord Neuronal:

It uses gentle physical stimulation to access felt experience. Accord Neuronal draws on the most recent phenomenological theories: Lévinas on universal dignity and Merleau-Ponty on embodied empathy.

Benefits of Accord Neuronal:

You gain a deeper understanding of what is happening within you in different situations, allowing you to adjust your behavior and make sounder decisions. You feel less stressed because you better understand your environment and experience greater inner calm. Your self-confidence grows.

Accord Neuronal enables:

Three domains of application, relevant in professional and care settings:

Recovery: after a night shift or a high-demand day, a short session helps restore optimal availability. The device acts on autonomic nervous system regulation via the vagus nerve, a mechanism documented in neuroscience (Porges, Polyvagal Theory, 1994).

Stress management: regulation through breathing and somatic anchoring produces a measurable effect, assessed before and after each session via felt-experience description.

Mental preparation: positive visualisation before a technical act or a high-stakes situation improves performance.

Session structure:

  • The person shares what they have felt since the last session.
  • The session itself, with gentle physical exercises to surface felt experience.
  • Description of felt experience to the phenopractitioner.

Accord Neuronal is for:

Everyone.
